What better way to display this striking image of a rocky sea cliff, on a winter morning, than as custom state of the art color poster.
This breathtakingly vibrant landscape is available in four sizes, a multi application 12x18 up to a real statement with the incredible 24x36” maximum.
Urenui Beach is a gap in the cliffs on Taranaki's "Wild West Coast" on New Zealand"s North Island.
The bay opens straight out onto the Pacific Ocean, and is often pummelled for days on end by strong winds and huge seas.
It is also one of the few breeding sites for the at risk Little Blue Penguin population, who build their burrows among the rocks above the high tide line.
The birds head out to sea about dawn, and only return after dark, leaving behind frustrated photographers, and footprints in the sand.
We were in the area during a test drive of the New Landrover Defender, and despite our best efforts did not even see a penguin in our time camping there. We did however manage to witness some beautiful sunrises over the surrounding limestone cliffs surrounding the bay.
And take photos of penguin footprints!
These early starts also gave us time to get the Landrover up into the rugged Karst geology of the inland "King Country" and some bushscapes from these adventures will be added to the gallery as we develop our shop.
